FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • 1. Why did the district decide to begin charging for school aged care?

Tiger Pack is a replacement for the previous free district before school care program. The previous program grew too large in numbers to be safely managed, and now requires more staff and supplies to ensure a safe and fun environment for students to attend before and after school.

  • 2. What are the hours of operation for Tiger Pack?

Tiger Packs doors will open at 6:00 AM on regular school days. In the event of a two hour delay, Tiger Pack will also open two hours late. If you drop your students off after 8:00 AM they will not be required to be registered with Tiger Pack.

We open again upon school dismissal and run until 6:00 PM. In the event of a scheduled early release, we will re-open upon dismissal at 1:40 PM. If an unscheduled early release is called, Tiger Pack will be closed for the safety of students.

  • 3. Why do I need to walk in and sign-in and sign-out my student at every session?

Tiger Pack requires guardians to walk their students into the program every day to sign them in, as well as walk into the program to pick up their students. Though there are many reasons for this change the main two are the safety of your student and Tiger Pack staff would like to get to know the families of the students they are spending time with.

  • 4. What can my child do at Tiger Pack?

At Tiger Pack, we want to make sure that your students can make different choices. We will be utilizing school facilities such as the gym, outside playgrounds, art rooms, and common areas for all different types of activities. Along with choices, each Tiger Pack site will have a ‘homework club’ that you can sign your student up for or they can attend if they need any extra help; so by the time you pick up your students your time at home with them can be dedicated to family time.

  • 5. What if my student has special needs or accommodations?

At Tiger Pack we would love to meet with individual families to discuss specific needs of your student if you feel they may need any extra help to enjoy before and after school care. Do not hesitate to contact Program Coordinator, Rachel Twedten via email at rtwedten@newrichmond.k12.wi.us or on the phone at 715-781-8721 to discuss any special circumstances your student may require.

  • 6. Is there any assistance for low-income families?

Unfortunately, for the first school year 2015 Tiger Pack will not have a contract with the program that allows us to accept county assistance from families. This is because Tiger Pack needs to make sure we are a sustainable, well-run program before can offer those services to families in need. County assistance is a very attainable goal for the next school year when Tiger Pack is more steadily established and running with consistent numbers.
