Community Education / Family Activities -
Community Education - Summer 2026

Get ready to explore the world of birds of prey in this exciting, hands-on class presented by the Wildlife Science Center! With hooked beaks, excellent eyesight, sharp talons, and powerful legs and feet, raptors are true rulers of the sky. In this engaging program, you’ll meet two live birds, featuring hawks and/or owls, and discover what makes them such incredible hunters. Learn about the unique adaptations Minnesota’s raptors use to find prey, stay hidden, defend their territory, and care for their young. You’ll also have the chance to touch real raptor and wildlife artifacts, giving you a firsthand look at the features that allow birds to fly, while we cannot! Perfect for curious learners of all ages, this interactive experience brings science to life through close-up encounters with some of nature’s most fascinating predators.
