You’ll start by making a light and airy pan pizza dough from scratch and discover the secret behind achieving the signature crispy, caramelized cheese crust. We will cover proper topping layering techniques, Detroit-style (cheese first, sauce last), along with how to use a seasoned steel or aluminum pan for optimal texture and bake. You’ll also explore tips for preparing a robust red sauce that perfectly complements the cheese and crust, plus learn how to make a delicious no-stovetop sauce to pair with your finished pizza. By the end of the class, you will have created your own customized Detroit-style pizza, guided step-by-step through dough mixing, topping, baking, and finishing.
