Intro to Sourdough

Community Education / Adult / Art, Cooking, DIY -
Community Education - Winter & Spring 2026

Curious about sourdough? In this beginner-friendly class, you will dive into the rich history and science behind one of the world’s oldest breads. We will break down key terminology, demystify the components of a healthy sourdough starter, and bust common myths (spoiler: sourdough does not have to be super sour or complicated!). Through hands-on guidance, you will learn how to care for your starter and understand how fermentation works. Then, we will roll up our sleeves and bake your very first sourdough sandwich loaf, soft, flavorful, and perfect for everyday use. You will leave class with a growing starter, your fresh loaf, and the confidence to keep baking at home. No experience necessary, just bring curiosity and a love for bread!
